Recent scammer ads have been largely swept away from my YouTube feed. In the last 12 months, I’ve been observing mainly three types of scams: the Microsoft tech support scam, the Goo/Yahoo-JAPAN news scam, and the stock investment guru scam. Today, I confirmed not only their appearance on Google Ads, but their landing websites have also been removed from the internet.
I never expected this to happen, but now I have to admit, Google is diligently working! However, I just saw another suspicious ad on my YouTube feed.
The thumbnail says “Click, come here” in the tagline with the untouched generic retailer template image. The linked website has no actual business name, no identifiable character, no items on the shelves, and no real physical address. I only see dummy items with no linked shopping cart, dummy “customer’s voice”, and dummy texts resembling real social media links. This set of the Google account and website would be the preparation for their next move.
